PatentLean (Patent Lean) Fat Burner
Review & Information: Does PatentLean Work?
 PatentLean is a relatively easy fat burner to review -- it contains only one ingredient -- 3-Acetyl-7-Oxo-Dehydroepiandrosterone, or 7-Keto for short.
7-keto is a metabolite of DHEA that exhibits no apparent side effects.
Why is this important? Well, DHEA is a steroid hormone that occurs naturally in the body and is produced in the adrenal glands. And 7-keto does not convert into to testosterone or estrogen, and has no effect
on the sex hormones.
That's a good thing.
What's promising about 7-keto is its positive
effect on thyroid hormone levels -- without any adverse effects
of any kind.
In
quoting a recent study in his superb Fat Loss Revealed, author and reknown supplement guru Will Brink says 7-keto is a potentially
promising weight loss agent, and worthwhile experimenting with at this time (Mr. Brink also emphasizes the safety of this product). One study Will references indicates the control group (the group using a "placebo" or sugar pill) lost 0.57%
of their bodyweight, and the group on 7-keto lost 1.8%. That's about
6 lbs on average.
Not bad.
These
promising beginnings aside, these are clearly early days for
7-keto. More studies need to be completed to thoroughly
demonstrate 7-keto's fat burning ability. At this point, only a few small studies have been performed, and I'd be hesitant to recommend PatentLean enthusiastically.
As far as PatentLean goes, it is a fairly expensive product. DrugStore.com sells 30 caps of PatentLean for around US$26.99 at the time of this writing. At two caps a day, that's a 15-day supply.
If you'd like to experiment with 7-keto but would like to do so at a more reasonable cost, I'd recommend Isatori's Lean System 7 (reviewed in full here) as an alternative product. It contains 7-Keto and a combination of other helpful ephedra-free ingredients that make it a more suitable, and more effective product.
