Isatori Morph Reviewed: Does Morph Offer Skin Splitting Pumps?

The GXR-3 delivery technology, found only in MORPH, is the most revolutionary and sophisticated delivery system ever developed. We have successfully taken precise ‘nutrient delivery and release’ to another level.

Morph is one of iSatori’s newest supplements. While iSatori has a solid reputation for fat loss supplements, their “muscle” products are less well-known. Will Morph change that? Will it really deliver “explosive strength surges,” “skin splitting pumps,” “roadmap vascularity” and instant recovery?”

As always, a look at the label will tell us more…

Directions: As a dietary supplement, take 6 tablets with a full glass of water approximately 30 minutes before workouts (weight-training or cardiovascular exercise). On non-training days, take 3 tablets before morning and afternoon meals, for a total of 6 tablets daily. TO EXPIERENCE QUICKER (AND MORE PROFOUND) RESULTS, take 9 tablets 30 minutes before a workout.

As you can see, Morph is divided up into 3 proprietary blends. These are supposed to be absorbed in a sequence of “…three precision releases at precisely 30, 60, and 120 minutes.”

The first, “Carnostim-X,” is composed of 4 ingredients: beta-alanine, L-histidine, aspartic acid and niacin. The first three ingredients recall one of iSatori’s other products: H+ Blocker. As noted in Paul’s review, H+ Blocker is designed to boost muscle carnosine (a dipeptide of beta-alanine and histidine), which serves to buffer the H+ ions produced during intense exercise. Ideally, this should enable one to work harder and longer—and some studies on beta-alanine have shown this is indeed the case.

One potential drawback to the Carnostim-X component is dose: most studies have used larger amounts of beta-alanine. In fact, Dr. Mark Tallon, who consulted with iSatori in the making of H+ Blocker, notes that…

“Research indicates that right around 3.2 grams of b-alanine supplementation, daily, can likely impart the desired benefits. However, this is only achieved after at least three to four weeks of continuous usage.”

Taken as directed (6–9 tablets), Morph users would be getting less than half of this amount. While all the components for synthesizing carnosine (i.e., beta-alanine, histidine) are there, it will likely take longer for full muscle loading to occur at the lower dose. Since Morph is intended for long term use, however, this should not be a problem.

The “Hydro-PUMP” blend is composed of glycerol monostearate and L-arginine-L-malate.

Glycerol has been used in bodybuilding circles for years as a “plasma expander” to improve vascularity.

Glycerol monostearate is used in several supplements, and generally gets high marks for pump and minimal side effects.

L-Arginine and arginine compounds are the core ingredients of nitric oxide (NO) supplements, which are taken pre-workout to create a “pump” and increase blood flow in the muscles being exercised. Thus, this appears to be a complementary combination of ingredients.

Last on the list is the “Prosyntha-Rx” blend of di-creatine malate and L-citrulline. Di-creatine malate is one of the many alternatives to creatine monohydrate on the market. L-citrulline is a urea cycle intermediate, which can also be used by the body to synthesize arginine. Thus, L-citrulline is an additional source of substrate for NO production. There is also some evidence that it reduces fatigue, increases ATP production, and assists in post-exercise recovery of phosphocreatine.

Taken together, Morph has a simple, but fairly solid list of ingredients that are known to enhance workout performance and recovery. Does it work? It should…but I couldn’t resist putting it to the test. Paul was pretty enthusiastic, and sent me a freebie bottle to try.

I gave Morph a test drive, using the recommended 6 tablets/day. I’m pleased to report that it pretty much performed as well as my favorite pre-workout NO boosters, with respect to workout stamina and strength. It gave me a decent pump too: not “skin splitting” perhaps, but good. I didn’t feel much from the beta-alanine, but it’s not a large dose, and I’m also pretty used to carnosine-boosting supps, having trialed MAN Body Octane, Controlled Labs Purple Wraath, and AST Beta-X in the past.

I’m a little skeptical of the “precision release” claim, which appears to be based solely on “dissolution and disintegration” tests, rather than measurements of plasma levels of the various components. iSatori makes the claim that users can “feel” when the different blends kick in. Other than a very slight tingle from the beta-alanine, I did not experience this—and 6 tablets represents a pretty stiff dose for someone my size (123 lbs.).

Nonetheless, I had a good experience with Morph. My workouts were productive, there were no side effects, and I liked the fact that it wasn’t a “kitchen sink” supplement, padded with a lot of useless or questionable ingredients. I can’t say that I experienced “instant recovery” or “roadmap vascularity” either, but I take these claims with a grain of salt anyway: it’s all Marketing 101.

Overall, Morph is a solid, well-made product. I agree with Paul’s assessment that it’s definitely worth a try. You can buy it direct from Isatori here!
