Back in the Gym!!!

Today was the day I’ve been waiting for: my first day back in the gym! Both Ryan (Number One Son and training partner) and I have been out since the 18th – when we started our intensive packing and cleaning. We signed up at our new gym as soon as we had the upstairs (principal living areas) set up, but had to wait a few more days to start working out. The “mild” thniffoos I developed during the week hardened into a rather nasty cold by the weekend.

Lord, I hate being sick!

Thankfully, I’m on the mend now… and it felt great to be back in action again. Needless to state, I didn’t plan a hardcore workout… rather, we did a modest, 2 sets-per-muscle group, whole body workout using “classic” exercises – nuthin’ fancy. We’ll do another whole body workout on Friday and then start a three day split on Monday.

John’s lagging behind me in the recovery department… but hopefully he’ll be back in action soon, too. Our new gym is just 4 blocks from his new office, so it will be easy for him to get a workout in during lunch or after work.

Our new gym is lookin’ good… and I’m looking forward to being back in the harness!

  1. Out since the 18th! Boy, I think that would have driven me crazy. Glad you like the new gym. Hopefully you and John get over your colds quickly.

    • Thanks – it sux being sick. Even though I’m pretty functional now, it usually takes a week+ before I’m completely symptom-free.

  2. Welcome back Elissa and congrats on surviving the moving odyssey. Is the 3-day split part of a packaged training program or a generic one that you’re putting together?
