Manufacturer’s Description: Omega To Go™ is a great tasting way to help you get the Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) from DHA you need every day for optimal brain, eye and heart health. The convenient, portable packets are perfect for the family on the go. Simply add Omega To Go to your bottled water and Rip, Pour, Go™!

Omega To Go is also high in antioxidants from natural Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamin D. In fact, Omega To Go provides 100% of your Daily Value (DV) of each of these important vitamins in every packet.

…Omega To Go contains Life’sDHA, the one of the only vegetarian sources of DHA on the market today. Unlike oils derived from fish that may be high in of ocean-borne contaminants, life’sDHA, comes from eco-friendly, sustainable, and organic algae. Sound fishy? Fish actually get their high DHA content by eating algae.  Life’s DHA, simply eliminates the ‘middle fish’!

Comments: Personally, I think the concept of portable, add-to-your-water-bottle nutraceuticals is kinda neat. True, I’m not an outdoorsy-type, so I don’t pack water bottles around, but I can just as easily add a packet to one of the 16 oz. glasses of water I keep near my elbow while I’m working…which is what I did. No measuring required.

Appearance-wise, the resulting drink is opaque and deeply orange colored, rather like carrot juice. It didn’t have a particularly strong flavor…rather, it tasted like a watered-down, organic version of Tang. In other words, it was only mildly sweet, with a bland, citrus-y flavor. It was ok – but nothing sensational.

On the plus side, it provides a decent amount of pre-formed DHA (100 mg/packet) – which is in short supply in a lot of diets – along with vitamins A, C, D and E. It’s about as “natural” as a product of this type could be, and is quite low in calories and carbs. The DHA is sourced from algae, so this product is suitable for vegetarians, as well as those who just don’t like taking fish oil, or other, oil-based omega-3 supplements.
