{"id":3115,"date":"2010-01-12T06:03:21","date_gmt":"2010-01-12T04:03:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ultimatefatburner.com\/?p=3115"},"modified":"2015-02-15T09:23:30","modified_gmt":"2015-02-15T14:23:30","slug":"couch-potatoes-planted-earlier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/couch-potatoes-planted-earlier\/","title":{"rendered":"Couch Potatoes Get Planted Earlier"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the American Heart Association, a new study\u00a0links TV viewing &#8211; and prolonged\u00a0sedentary behavior\u00a0in general &#8211; with an increase in all cause mortality and death from cardiovascular disease.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>DALLAS, Jan. 11, 2010 \u2014 Couch potatoes beware: every hour of television watched per day may increase the risk of dying earlier from cardiovascular disease, according to research reported in <em>Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Australian researchers tracked the lifestyle habits of 8,800 adults and found that each hour spent in front of the television daily was associated with:<br \/>\n\u2022 an 11 percent increased risk of death from all causes,<br \/>\n\u2022 a 9 percent increased risk of cancer death; and<br \/>\n\u2022 an 18 percent increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD)-related death.<\/p>\n<p>Compared with people who watched less than two hours of television daily, those who watched more than four hours a day had a 46 percent higher risk of death from all causes and an 80 percent increased risk for CVD-related death.
