{"id":291,"date":"2008-10-26T05:18:03","date_gmt":"2008-10-26T03:18:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ultimatefatburner.com\/wordpress\/?p=291"},"modified":"2008-10-26T05:18:03","modified_gmt":"2008-10-26T03:18:03","slug":"youre-missing-the-good-stuff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/youre-missing-the-good-stuff\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;You&#8217;re Missing the Good Stuff!&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had to go play &#8220;Mrs.\u00a0Project Manager&#8221; at a party given by my husband&#8217;s company last night.\u00a0 It was fun&#8230;if\u00a0mildly ironic.<\/p>\n<p>It was a pretty nice event, actually: open bar and\u00a0hors d&#8217;oeuvres followed by a steak and lobster dinner.\u00a0\u00a0I had a glass of merlot and\u00a0a\u00a0couple\u00a0of morsels\u00a0from the cheese tray before dinner, then ate my spinach salad, lobster tail\u00a0(lemon, no butter), broccolini and half\u00a0of the small filet mignon.\u00a0 It was quite satisfying, so I waved off the dessert and asked for coffee.<\/p>\n<p>I was completely\u00a0matter-of-fact about it, but\u00a0this heresy\u00a0didn&#8217;t go unnoticed by some of my seatmates.\u00a0 I was even chided for it: &#8220;You&#8217;re missing the good stuff!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s so &#8220;good&#8221; about eating until I feel bloated, sleepy and stupid?\u00a0 Ya got me&#8230;but just because the food\u00a0was there\u00a0wasn&#8217;t a reason to eat it, IMHO.\u00a0 I did my usual: focus on nutrient-dense foods, and eat just enough to satisfy my appetite.\u00a0 What I had was great and I enjoyed it: I missed exactly nothing.<\/p>\n<p>The irony?\u00a0 I\u00a0also gave\u00a0out several business cards to people\u00a0who want to get in touch with me&#8230;evidently they&#8217;re curious to\u00a0know\u00a0how I manage\u00a0to stay in shape. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had to go play &#8220;Mrs.\u00a0Project Manager&#8221; at a party given by my husband&#8217;s company last night.\u00a0 It was fun&#8230;if\u00a0mildly ironic.
