{"id":2619,"date":"2009-09-13T06:16:48","date_gmt":"2009-09-13T04:16:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ultimatefatburner.com\/?p=2619"},"modified":"2015-02-15T00:34:18","modified_gmt":"2015-02-15T05:34:18","slug":"what-do-they-mean-by-wholesome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/what-do-they-mean-by-wholesome\/","title":{"rendered":"What Do They Mean By &#8220;Wholesome&#8221;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just like &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/supplement-ad-claim-of-the-month-all-natural\/\" target=\"_blank\">natural<\/a>&#8220;, &#8220;wholesome&#8221; is\u00a0a marketing buzz word.\u00a0 It conveys the impression of &#8220;healthy&#8221;, but in a noncommittal sort of way.\u00a0 So it&#8217;s always worth reading the fine print, to make sure\u00a0an allegedly &#8220;wholesome&#8221; food product really merits the description.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/voices.washingtonpost.com\/checkup\/2009\/09\/is_that_right_new_lunchables_a.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Like Kraft&#8217;s new, &#8220;wholesome&#8221; Lunchables, for example.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But I invite you to scan the rest of the ingredients in the new Turkey + Cheddar Sub Sandwich Lunchables. Does it look &#8220;wholesome&#8221; to you? Kraft has managed to turn a simple turkey and cheese sandwich, something every caretaker able to buy a Lunchable ($3.49) can easily afford and quickly slap together to stick in a lunchbox, into a chemistry set. Just reading the list of ingredients &#8212; I stopped counting at 119 &#8212; is exhausting; perhaps they figure we&#8217;ll just give up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;But as for that lovely &#8220;spring water,&#8221; Kraft takes its time mentioning the artificially sweetened drink mix that comes with it.
