According to this detailed article in Wired Magazine, a\u00a0microbrew\u00a0from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fossilfuelsbrewingco.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fossil Fuels Brewing Company<\/a> in Northern California is being made with a re-animated strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae extracted from fossil amber from the Eocene epoch. Not\u00a0exactly &#8220;Jurassic Park&#8221;, but close&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Evidently, the\u00a0brew is pretty good, too: there&#8217;ve been several &#8220;thumbs up&#8221; reviews.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never been a big beer drinker, but I&#8217;d love to try it&#8230;I&#8217;m a science nerd, after all.\u00a0 Unfortunately, it&#8217;s not being distributed outside of Northern California yet.\u00a0 But who knows?\u00a0 The hubby and I are considering a short, end-of-summer\u00a0vacation&#8230; and a beer\/wine-tasting tour of Northern CA might be just the ticket. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>(h\/t <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aol.com\/food\/?kdwp=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Slashfood<\/a>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, not the beer itself&#8230;it&#8217;s the yeast the beer&#8217;s made from.
