{"id":120,"date":"2008-04-29T04:24:54","date_gmt":"2008-04-29T02:24:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.ultimatefatburner.com\/wordpress\/the-test-test-day-20\/"},"modified":"2015-12-03T11:14:56","modified_gmt":"2015-12-03T16:14:56","slug":"the-test-test-day-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/the-test-test-day-20\/","title":{"rendered":"The &#8220;Test&#8221; Test: Day 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John has to travel this week: he left on Sunday, and won&#8217;t be back until Friday night.\u00a0 This means some disruption to his workout and diet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At least TSA didn&#8217;t confiscate his IsaTest&#8230;he brought it along with him, and has been sending daily bulletins.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll let him speak for himself&#8230;as he laid out his goals for the trip yesterday:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><em>&#8220;Big week this week.\u00a0 I&#8217;m traveling to out in the sticks, South Carolina for a week-long meeting. Cut off from nutritious food and a gym for a week.\u00a0 Staying on the program will be a challenge.\u00a0 I weighed in as 209.8 lbs today, and the goal is to come back the same.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve lost 4 pounds since starting the test, and gained a hint of lean mass, and I don&#8217;t want to lose that.\u00a0 The challenge is going to be eating properly; being locked up\u00a0among mundanes from a fitness perspective, and without my own wheels, it&#8217;s going to be nearly impossible to get in 5 meals a day.\u00a0 Depending on where we go for restaurants, I should be able to make good meal choices.\u00a0 Staying hydrated will also be an important goal.\u00a0 I&#8217;m carrying along a copy of &#8220;Never Gymless&#8221; for ideas for circuits &#8211; though since I&#8217;m doing this in a hotel room, the choices are mostly push ups, lunges, wall squats, crunches and dips.\u00a0 But I&#8217;ll see what variations and options come up in the book.\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be reporting back on a daily basis, which will help me stay on course.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/rosstraining.com\/blog\/never-gymless\/\" rel=\"noopener\">The &#8220;Never Gymless&#8221; book is by Ross Enamait<\/a> &#8211; and was highly recommended by one of the other mods on the &#8220;Bodybuilding Revealed&#8221; forum.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s a good one too, although some of the exercises\u00a0look pretty\u00a0advanced.\u00a0 When he brings it back, I&#8217;m gonna flip through it some more and see what I can incorporate into my get-up-from-the-computer-and-move-around mini routines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He just sent today&#8217;s check-in message:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I&#8217;m having computer problems tonight &#8211; I can&#8217;t get past the federal firewall, so I&#8217;m\u00a0writing this from the walk-up computer in the lobby.\u00a0 Eating was erratic again &#8211; three meals today with a snack.\u00a0 Breakfast: a bagel with peanut butter, with a yogurt (note &#8211; stay away from the Hampton Inn breakfast);\u00a0 lunch, a salad bar at the Savannah River Site cafeteria (splurged with a tblsp of blue cheese dressing); dinner, mahi mahi with broccoli and a green salad; also splurged with two beers.\u00a0 Couple of Clif bars throughout the day &#8211; I&#8217;ve run out of them, so I won&#8217;t be eating any more of them the rest of the week.\u00a0 Hit a grocery store and picked up some cottage cheese, string cheese and fruit.\u00a0 Not real bad, but not real good.\u00a0 Tomorrow&#8217;s another day.\u00a0 Got in a little workout &#8211; wall squats until I sank to my knees.\u00a0 If I have enough time to digest, I&#8217;ll repeat the pushups.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>So far, so-so&#8230;protein sounds a bit on the low side, and there were a few too many splurges (Clif bars, beers &#8211; and I&#8217;ll bet\u00a0he had\u00a0more than 1 tbsp. of dressing &#8211; lol).\u00a0 But we&#8217;ll see how the week progresses.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;ll report a weight\u00a0and body comp\u00a0after he gets back next weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John has to travel this week: he left on Sunday, and won&#8217;t be back until Friday night.\u00a0 This means some disruption to his workout and diet.\u00a0 At least [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[3,27],"tags":[239,498,1851,610,943,1622],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/120"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=120"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/120\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":10200,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/120\/revisions\/10200"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=120"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=120"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.ultimatefatburner.com\/ufb-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=120"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
