Is Ephedrine
Safe? Does Ephedrine Work? New Study Reveals All!
Is
ephedrine safe? Does ephedrine work? These are by far the two
most common questions from people considering supplementation
with a stimulant based fat burner (like Stacker 2, Hydroxycut,
Xenadrine, Trimspa, and Xenotrope to name but a few).
Ephedrine
has long been a controversial product. Although ephedrine is
contraindicated, even dangerous for a few select individuals,
its dangers have, for the most part, been largely overstated.
Unfortunately, because of the swirling mass of misinformation
circling in the media, it's been difficult for people to really
know the true nature of ephedrine. Although previous
studies have provided an emphatic "yes" to the question
"does ephedrine work?" (a study published in the International
Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders (18(2):99-103,1994)
showed the combination of ephedrine and caffeine to outperform
dexfenfluramine in the treatment of obesity), the recent
media misinformation frenzy has made it difficult to determine...
is ephedrine safe?
A
brand new landmark study may finally put both of these questions
to rest. A 6-month double-blind randomized study including researchers
from Harvard, Columbia and Vanderbilt Universities (and several
other esteemed research and medical centers) found that the
caffeine/ephedrine combination is not only very effective
as a fatburner, but when taken *properly* exhibits only minor
side effects. In fact, researchers concluded that for healthy
individuals, increases in heart rate and blood pressure were
so marginal as to be insignificant.
Of
course, the key phrase here is "for healthy individuals".
If you experience any contraindicated symptoms -- high blood
pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, thyroid disease and
so on, you should never even consider an ephedrine based product
without first discussing it with your doctor.
The
entire study is published in the prestigious International Journal
of Obesity. You can view the entire study online...

Am
I surprised by the newest research results?
Not
really, although it's always nice to see studies that vindicate
the initial research results. I've always said it...
It's
not for everyone, but the ephedrine/caffeine stack really WORKS,
and yes, ephedrine is safe when taken by healthy individuals
in the correct dosage.
*Aside:*
If you are new to stimulant-based fat burners, I recommend you
read my article "Tips
for taking Ephedrine Safely" before you experiment
with any popular fat burner.
For
your information, I've included links to reviews of a
few of my favorite ephedrine-based products at

I'd
also recommend that first time users begin supplementation with
the smallest possible dose to access their tolerance to this
compound. Trust me...
Ephedrine
can pack quite a kick!
